HomeStart Finance, a purpose-driven financial services organisation committed to making home ownership accessible, was preparing for a major technology transformation.
A significant system implementation was on the horizon. The go-live date was set. The stakes were high.
While the executive team was experienced and capable, they recognised a critical truth: if they weren’t visibly aligned, consistent and deliberate in how they led the change, the organisation would feel it.
Technology projects don’t derail because of code. They derail when leadership signals are mixed.
HomeStart wanted to ensure their executive team wasn’t just supportive of the transformation — but fully aligned and equipped to lead it together.
We delivered the Reframe Change™ (Drivers) program as a tailored executive experience, creating space for the five-member executive team to reflect, challenge assumptions and strengthen their collective leadership approach.
Through facilitated sessions, the team explored how their individual perspectives shaped decision-making, how misalignment subtly shows up in behaviour and language, and what successful change truly looks like.
One of the most powerful mindset shifts was redefining success. Instead of equating success with a flawless go-live, the team embraced a more resilient definition: success also means being ready for the problems.
That shift changed everything. It reduced unhelpful pressure and increased confidence. It created psychological safety at the top. Importantly, the learning didn’t stop with the executive team.
Once they had completed the Drivers program, they made a deliberate decision to take their next level of leadership through the same experience. Each executive personally hosted a post-training reflection session, reinforcing the learning and demonstrating visible commitment.
This wasn’t delegated. It was led. By actively sponsoring and participating in the rollout, the executive team embodied the leadership shadow in action — signalling that this wasn’t just another program, but a shared way of thinking about change.
A common language began to take hold across leadership levels.
As the organisation moved closer to its major transformation, the difference was tangible.
Leaders across levels were aligned in how they spoke about change. They understood that challenges were inevitable — and that readiness, not perfection, defined success.
Reflecting on go-live, HomeStart’s Chief Customer Officer captured it perfectly:
“It went well. People told us they were ready. No one needed more time; people felt confident.”
When asked about the technology itself, she reaffirmed:
“Like any major implementation, there were challenges, but our people were ready, confident and supported”
That is change maturity. Through the Drivers program, HomeStart strengthened executive cohesion, cascaded alignment through the next layer of leadership, and built a shared mindset that positioned them for success.
And this was just the beginning. With leadership alignment firmly established, we are now partnering with HomeStart to support their transformation through our Enable, Design and Manage services — turning readiness into structured delivery.
